You have a fantastic way for providing information that can be understood by everyone. If I had known about your articles, maybe I would not have been "stung" on coins actually purchased in Dahlonega! Possibly in the future, I will read something that will help me to recover some of what I spent on these "unslabable" coins. Keep up what you are doing, because you are providing "real life" facts to us. Thank you!!!

hi,i just spoke briefly to you on the phone and you were busy so you couldn't talk to me.
i have been offered a deal on some coins and want to know if buying this type of coin from him or anyone else is a worthwhile investment. i have looked all over the internet including websites like the us mint/dept of treasury and can't seem to find this coin anywhere. the man told me this: they were st gauden's mini gold coins, 1/8 of an ounce with various karats. no denomination on his but i looked up the st gaudens type of coin and they are twenty dollar denominations. i know that he has at least 1500 of these mini coins for sale. he stated he will sell me one for 6$ or fifteen of them for 60$. i am looking to buy 15 of the same type of coin for my son's collection/15th birthday. i am not planning to resell these coins. i know very little about coin collecting and will do further research. please let me know what you think, sincerely, trish

Hi Doug,

As a novice collector, I cannot agree with you more!! I have thoroughly enjoyed every article I have read by you and feel your insight and advice is very special -- like a fine cognac! I love your inventory and hopefully one day I can find something special for my collection within my budget. But even if I cannot, you have left various clues in many articles of what to look for and I thank you for your brutal honestly.

Happy New Year to you and your family!
